Anyone passing by a UNIS elementary school classroom in mid-October would have been caught off guard by the morning's lesson plan: Students excitedly exclaiming as they peered into what appeared to be simple and small cardboard boxes.
It was part of an innovative new pilot program by Google, entitled the Expeditions Pioneer Program, a virtual reality platform that allows instructors to supplement their teachings with immersive new experiences.
