Friday morning and the lobby of UNIS was already bustling—business as usual—except that it wasn't quite typical. Just 6:30 a.m., nearly 200 fifth and sixth graders squealed in excitement as they pulled on light blue t-shirts and scrambled to get into lines. "Your Promise, Our Future," read the message emblazoned on the back, and with little fanfare, they all departed the school, and in the early daylight made their way to 46th Street and 1st Avenue.
